The Future is Bright

So I’m currently in the process of looking for something new; I might be transferring schools in the fall , I’m not sure in state or out of state. I’m looking for a new job because while working on campus is so ideal and I used to love getting free food, I’ve come to the brutal realization that food service isn’t for me. Continue reading

Day Four: Iced In

So today is the fourth day of the harsh winter weather keeping us cooped up in our dorms. Unfortunately it’s not snow, just ice, BUT the school campus has basically been closed all weekend. You know what that means – MOVIE TIME!!! There have been different activities going on in each dorm as well as some sliding down one of the hills with lunch trays or trash bags.

Now it’s Sunday. There’s still ice covering the ground and on my hall it’s mostly quiet. I feel like Monday morning classes may still be cancelled, in which case I would just continue doing what I’ve done the last four days: relax. But this is Texas, and the weather changes every hour so we will see. These past few days almost felt like one big dream sequence. Nothing felt real, perhaps because of the lack of the hustle and bustle of the combination of work and school. Either way, I liked this break where I got to gather and socialize with friends, eat mediocre food and create amazing memories. There’s something about trying to get all the ice off a friends car with glove-covered hands that brings people together.

Meanwhile I’ve been adoring Lianna La Havas; she’s like India.Arie with a little bit of blues mixed in. I love her album Is Your  Love Big Enough?; it has been in heavy rotation along with a few Christmas songs here and there. Anywho, I should probably start on one of three essays though just in case class isn’t cancelled tomorrow.

Until next time,

Lighten Hair Color with Cinnamon

English: Cinnamon

English: Cinnamon (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I found this pin on pinterest of this girl that lightened her hair and it was so gorgeous. Of course, now I can’t find that pin, but I remembered that the girl said she lightened her hair with cinnamon and she hadn’t had previously dyed her hair but she did have highlights and the cinnamon mixture enhanced them. I had highlights about two years ago and they were cinnamon red, so I wanted to try this cinnamon mix to see if I could achieve a reddish color in my hair. Continue reading

Style Envy: Beyonce

So there has been some buzz lately on Beyonce because she’s rocking a fresh cut. Personally, I think it looks cute and it’s something different! I’m a fan of hers and following her on Tumblr, I can’t help but notice her style. Whether it’s street style casual or daytime dressy, she always looks put together.

Sweet Treats: Peanut Butter Cookies

I have the biggest sweet tooth and it seems like I always want something sweet. Last summer I was rolling out Cinnamon Rolls almost every other week. This summer I’ve toned down on the baking, just because it’s always such a process and I hate washing dishes.

I decided to go with a simple peanut butter recipe that didn’t require a lot of ingredients and took as little time as possible. I went to my trusty recipe Continue reading

Thankful Thursday

So for those of you who don’t know, I have a YouTube channel (beautifoolbliss) and I mainly talk about learning Korean and resources and a little bit of singing mixed in with a few beauty related videos. I’m telling you about this because this is related to my post today.
One of my viewers left the sweetest message I’ve ever had from a stranger and it was so uplifting. It said:

You are beautiful on the outside and inside! ❤ I’m not kidding! I know learning korean can be hard but be patient I hope you can learn it fluently one day! 😀 lovely girl you sound like you have a big heart (I know this is random lol) but yh 🙂 Subscribed! ❤

I’m so thankful for sweet comments like that from strangers! It just reminds me of the good in people and how positive some people are. That comment motivated me to try to be more friendly and uplifting to others around me.

My year (so far)

My year thus far has been eventful and emotional. I don’t think I’ve cried so much or experienced so much as I have this year. I have matured not crazy amounts of maturity, but small bite sized pieces of me has matured.

I realized how important writing out my feelings is to me; I wasn’t consistent during the  school year and I had abandoned my music blog. But I really, really love writing and getting all of my thoughts out of my head whether that be on my iPhone, in a journal or on a blog.

This year has been amazing and exciting and scary, but that’s just how life is in general. I guess that means I’m finally living.
